Description

Baked Brie with honey and pistachios is a simple yet elegant appetizer that combines creamy, gooey brie cheese with the sweetness of honey and the crunch of chopped pistachios. Perfect for holiday gatherings or any special occasion, this recipe is easy to prepare and makes a beautiful centerpiece served warm with crackers or sliced baguette.

Ingredients

Scale

Baked Brie

  • 1 wheel brie cheese (8 to 12 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons honey, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup shelled pistachios, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt (optional)
  • Fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • Crackers or sliced baguette for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a small oven-safe baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Score the Brie: Place the wheel of brie in the prepared dish. Using a sharp knife, score the top of the brie in a shallow crosshatch pattern if desired to help the toppings meld in.
  3. Add Toppings: Drizzle the olive oil or melted butter over the brie, then spoon the honey evenly on top. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios over the surface. Add flaky sea salt and fresh thyme leaves if using to enhance flavor.
  4. Bake: Bake the brie for 12 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is soft and gooey in the center but still holds its shape around the edges.
  5. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with additional honey. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette to enjoy the creamy, sweet, and nutty flavors at their best.

Notes

  • If the rind of the brie is very thick, you may trim it from the top only for better texture and flavor absorption.
  • Walnuts or almonds can be used as a substitute for pistachios if preferred or for variation.
  • Serve the baked brie immediately since it firms up as it cools, reducing its gooey texture.
