Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 1 (12-count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1.5 lbs thinly sliced deli roast beef
- 6-8 slices provolone cheese (or Swiss cheese)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Optional: caramelized onions
Au Jus
- 4 cups beef broth (or consommé)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Slice rolls: Carefully slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally through the middle and place the bottom halves evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Assemble layers: Layer half of the thinly sliced roast beef evenly over the bottom rolls. If using caramelized onions, spread them on top of the beef. Then add half of the provolone cheese slices over the beef and onions. Repeat by layering the remaining beef and cheese, then place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese.
- Prepare garlic butter mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns to add flavor and a golden crust.
- Bake the sliders: Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tops are golden brown.
- Make the au jus: While the sliders are baking, combine the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce in a medium saucepan. Bring it to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and keep it warm for serving.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, slice into individual servings, and serve immediately with warm au jus for dipping.
Notes
- Caramelized onions are optional but add a sweet, rich flavor to the sliders.
- You can substitute Swiss cheese for provolone if desired.
- Use thinly sliced deli roast beef for the best texture in the sliders.
- If you prefer, you can use beef consommé instead of regular beef broth for a richer au jus.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture generously to ensure the tops brown nicely.
- Serve immediately for the best taste and texture, as the bread can become soggy if left for too long.
