Ingredients
Scale
Salmon Fillets
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
Glaze
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the salmon.
- Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, melted butter, honey, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Prepare Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on the lined baking sheet. Brush half of the prepared glaze evenly over the top of the fillets.
- Bake First Stage: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 8 minutes, allowing the glaze to start caramelizing and the fish to cook through gently.
- Glaze Again and Finish Baking: Remove the salmon from the oven, brush the fillets with the remaining glaze, and return them to the oven. Bake for an additional 8 to 10 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Rest and Garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving for a fresh touch and vibrant presentation.
Notes
- Make sure not to overcook the salmon to keep it moist and tender.
- The glaze can be adjusted to taste by reducing sugar or increasing honey for different sweetness levels.
- Use fresh parsley for garnish to add color and a subtle fresh flavor.
- If skin-on salmon is used, baking skin-side down helps the fillets hold together during cooking.
- This recipe pairs well with steamed vegetables or a light salad for a balanced meal.
